With heart filled with joy, I await the big day! Finally, it's time for me to embark the stage and showcase the beauty of one of the oldest forms of the Indian dances, Bharatnatyam. My performance is scheduled for the June 3, 2016. My parents and I cordially invite you to be part of the event. The performance will be held at the Muthamizh Peravai T. N Rajarathinam Kalai Arangam, Opp MGR Janaki College RAPuram, Chennai 600 028. We look forward to your presence.

Thank you to my Guru, Guide and Mentor

Today as I go down the memory lane, I wish to recall all the moments that are special. I owe a lot is my guru, mentor and guide, Mr Ajeesh Manjeri And Mr Karthik. At the first instance, his performance dazzled me. At the second instance his performance inspired me to take up formal training in Bharatnatyam and all the while his guidance motivated me to do well and excel. On this occasion, with folded hands and a heart filled with gratitude, I wish to thank his for devoting time and training me very patiently. She not only taught me the art of dance but also trained me to express my deep emotions in a way I would have otherwise never been able to! His constant support, motivation and relentless efforts have helped me turn in to a performer from a beginner. Thank you very much, Guru ji.

Thank you to my Family and Friends

Thoughts keep crossing my mind; however I am now determined to pen them down for my blog. I attended my first dance class a little before I turned five. At that age, I had never imagined myself reaching this point in time where I am busy practicing for my Arangetram. Guess it was my dad's dream and mom's commitment that has helped me travel this long and get me so close to this big day! I have no words to express and hence I am selecting this particular still from my dance folio and dedicating the same to my parents. After all, we all agree that a picture speaks thousand words and dance is the best form of expression! On this occasion, I take the opportunity to express gratitude to my family and friends. You all were there with me through my journey. Well, to be honest, this journey was not easy. There were times when I got tired, there were days when I sprained my legs and hands while performing a tough mudra. There were moments when I thought of dropping the program mid-way; however constant support and motivation that I received from you all has helped me see the light of this big day! Thank you very much, everyone.

Dancing is the Best form of Expression

Once again these are my random thoughts on dancing. I believe in dance. I believe it's the ultimate form of expression. Not only at an individual's level but also it represents the culture and ethnicity of the performer. The best words communicated are most times those that are unspoken; dance has remained the key form of expression since centuries. Dance can attract; dance can mesmerize; dance can win hearts! Yes, you may call it magical or medicinal or simply mystical; to me it's all!

At times I wonder how the well-coordinated eyes, neck, lips, hands and feet simply can tell a story that touches the heart. When I talk of Bharat Natyam, it has been one of the most ancient forms of art and it's gonna stay for years and years to come. So let our souls keep expressing!
